Springtime ~ buds forming on branches that have shed the weight of winter; wildflowers and wildlife beckoning in a sunny breeze; rain and sun kissing the fragrant earth. It’s also a time when we take a moment to celebrate Earth Day in honor of all of these natural treasures that sustain and inspire us throughout our lives.
Nature’s gifts are truly abundant, and our remarkable National Forest System provides natural gifts galore to people of all ages from all walks of life. From clean air and water; diverse and thriving wildlife; wild rivers and streams; and remarkable outdoor experiences ~ it’s hard not to appreciate the extraordinary gifts, sustenance and inspiration provided by this 193-million-acre wonderland.
All of this is cause for celebration ~ and you can help celebrate Earth Day’s birthday with your own very special gift back to nature. In honor of this special occasion, your donation of $40 to the National Forest Foundation will plant 40 trees. Just think about what a gift like that can do…your trees will:
● improve water quality and quantity
● improve habitat for dozens of wildlife species
● absorb carbon and improve air quality
● enhance outdoor recreation experiences…and so much more!
Enjoying these gifts year after year depends on our commitment to work together on ensuring their health and vitality. Whether you explore your wild places on snowshoes or skis, running shoes or hiking boots ~ or just love knowing they are here to sustain and inspire ~ your support of our National Forest System will help leave an enduring legacy for all.
Now. . . it’s time to go outside and PLAY!
"Spring won't let me stay in this house any longer! I
must get out and breathe the air deeply again."
~ Gustav Mahler
