Welcome to our Friends of the Forest directory of volunteer activities that take place on our National Forest lands. Opportunities exist to help with on-the-ground conservation projects conducted by our partner organizations, as well as Friends of the Forest Days that are sponsored or co-sponsored by the National Forest Foundation. Thank you for your interest in volunteering to help benefit our National Forests and Grasslands.
What: Join us in celebrating the grandeur of our public lands by volunteering to preserve the trails and facilities that ensure Mount St. Helens is enjoyed by all of our citizens! We will clear overgrown vegetation, maintain trails, restore dispersed campsites, as well as construct and maintain facilities on the south side of the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument.

Arkansas Wildlife Fedeartion will replace gate, some fence, remove 2 1/2 miles of old fence. brushog 23 acres, lime and fertilize same field to enhance area for wildlife. Also will clean 1 mile of Richland Creek in same area. Work days Sept., late Oct. and Jan.& Feb. 2011....
Join volunteers from around the country and give back to our National Forest Lands. Several stewardship projects will be conducted, in past years volunteers have planted trees, installed interpretive signs, or even maintained hiking trails.
