Meet Our Tree Planting Team

The NFF’s Tree Planting team works closely with our supporters - corporations, individuals and small businesses - and our partners at the U.S. Forest Service to build partnerships that plant trees to restore our National Forests. We listen closely to our supporters interests, and craft partnerships that celebrate their commitment and our impact together. We take pride in providing responsive and personable support for our partners and supporters.

Mindy Crowell

Mindy Crowell joined the NFF Team in March of 2020 and serves as the Reforestation Partnerships Director. Mindy holds a Master’s Certificate in Natural Resources Conflict Resolution from the University of Montana along with experience in developing and implementing public engagement campaigns, facilitation, fund development and a Communications Degree from Gonzaga University. As a former co-host and producer on the Outlandish podcast, Mindy loves hearing about the stories and adventures people have on our public lands and she is passionate about positively impacting America’s favorite national real-estate. Mindy is excited to be a part of the Tree Planting Team’s efforts, 50 Million For Our Forests, investing in healthy forests for today and for future generations. When she’s not engaging with her team at NFF, Mindy can be found out trail running with her beast of a dog, Archer, spending time with her husband, Daniel, or enjoying a lovely glass of wine with a good book.

Monica Perez-Watkins

Reforestation Partnerships Program Manager

Monica supports the NFF's reforestation program by managing projects and funds, developing content, and supporting partnerships. She has more than a dozen years of experience in the conservation field, and a B.S. in Wildlife & Conservation Biology and an M.S. in Environmental Studies. She is thrilled to support reforestation efforts on National Forests and loves learning new things about our forests, writing on topics that help our supporters connect to projects and elucidate the need for our program. In her off hours, Monica enjoys soaking up the Montana sunshine on the water and in the woods with her family, and curling up with a good book.

Caroline Chouinard

Reforestation Sr. Associate

Caroline joined the NFF in June of 2023 as the Reforestation Sr. Associate. When Caroline isn’t talking all things trees, they enjoy dancing, swimming in cold lakes, propagating plants, darning socks, and trying new restaurants.
