Aspen Genetics Stewardship Project, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, Colorado

The National Forest Foundation (NFF) and the USDA Forest Service (USFS) are working together to implement the Aspen Genetics Stewardship Project. The Aspen Genetics Stewardship Project is a cooperative forest management project on National Forest System (NFS) lands in Delta County, Colorado. The project consists of six treatment units totaling 179 acres. Units are vegetated in mature aspen, live and dead, with an understory of serviceberry, snowberry, various herbaceous plants, and substantial downed logs. Slope varies from 0 to 35%.
