Camp Hale Restoration - Cultural & Heritage Support, White River National Forest, Colorado

June 5, 2025

The White River National Forest and its partners are working on designing, developing, and implementing projects related to restoration and watershed enhancement in Camp Hale. Proposed actions for the river and wetland restoration, and associated asbestos mitigation, now need thorough review to move forward. To start this work, it is crucial that existing cultural resources are thoroughly documented. To facilitate efficient compliance with federal laws and regulations, particularly Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and its implementing regulations (36 Code of Federal Regulations Part 800), and the directive in the Forest Service Heritage Manual, Camp Hale is seeking a contractor to develop a Cultural Resources Plan that allows for the identification, evaluation, protection, and mitigation of and for historic properties
