Pinaleno Ecosystem Restoration Firescape Hand Thin Project, Coronado National Forest, Arizona

August 1, 2025

The National Forest Foundation, in partnership with the Coronado National Forest, is seeking a qualified forestry contractor to implement forest and watershed restoration activities through non-commercial hand-thinning as part of the Pinaleno Ecosystem Restoration Project (PERP). The project area consists of two separate fuel types, dependent on elevation. Units are largely composed of small diameter trees with relatively high stand densities. Additionally, standing dead is a large component of this project.

This Request for Proposals is for restoration services that include hand felling of both live and dead conifers and brush species and piling of all activity slash for 400 mandatory acres with 600 additional acres available, pending funding availability.
