Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley Fire Protection Project Implementation Tahoe National Forest, California
This project on the Truckee Ranger District will improve safety along a significant emergency access corridor and around the communities of Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley by treating hazardous fuels on up to 684.5 acres 4 miles west of Tahoe City and 9 miles south of the Town of Truckee. This Request for Proposals is to secure an implementation contractor to perform the necessary fuels reduction work.
The awarded implementation contractor will complete up to 684.5 acres of hazardous fuels reduction within the Project footprint. Treatments will include mastication; machine cutting & piling; hand thinning and chipping; and hand thinning and piling.
