Dead Horse Rim Trails Tree Removal Fremont-Winema National Forest, Oregon
The National Forest Foundation in coordination with the United States Forest Service (USFS) seeks bids to logout or otherwise remove fallen trees from up to a maximum of 29 miles of trail in the Dead Horse Rim area of the Fremont-Winema National Forest. This project involves the removal of downed trees from Class 3 and Class 2 non-motorized trails affected by the 2021 Bootleg Fire. Large trees that have fallen across the trail will be cut and removed, medium sized trees will be moved to the trail edge to help define the trail corridor, and small trees will be removed from the trail. No other trail work is being requested at this time. The project area is typically snow-free and accessible between May and October, but site accessibility dates can differ based on local weather conditions.
