NFF, in conjunction with the USFS, Mt. Hood National Forest, seeks proposals for professional services to produce construction documents that will be used to rebuild the Fish Creek Day Use Area following the 2020 Riverside Fire. Concept designs were developed to include an expanded parking area, accessible trail with water access, a day use/picnicking area, and a new boat launch. Construction documents will be reviewed at 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% completion. A 60-to-90-day pause will be scheduled following submission of the 60% Construction Document deliverable to accommodate an internal FS NEPA review.
In coordination with USFS and the NFF, the selected Contractor will produce signed and stamped construction documents that will be used to solicit bids from construction contractors for the rebuilding of the Fish Creek Day Use Area.
Pre-Bid Meeting
NFF and the USFS will hold a pre-bid meeting for interested bidders on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Attendance at the meeting is not mandatory to submit a bid. A record of questions asked and USFS answers will be provided to all interested bidders. The meeting will be held at Fish Creek Day Use Area, Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon. Please park along Fish Creek Road and do not impede through traffic or block gate. Attendees will meet at the bridge entrance in front of the gate.

Download MaterialsIn collaboration with the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS), NFF is seeking a contractor to conduct service work, including forest thinning and mastication operations, across 194.5 acres of state land in Chaffee County, CO to reduce dense forest fuels that have accumulated due to a century of fire suppression and human development in fire-dependent ecosystems. The CSFS (Implementation Lead) identified and developed this project and will operate as the primary point of contact for the selected contractor during implementation.
This Request for Proposals (RFP) includes 194.5 acres of forest treatments in pinyon-juniper and ponderosa pine stands. All work is to be completed with large wheeled or tracked masticators with either vertical or horizontal mulching head, capable of operating on slopes >20%. Skid-steer mastication equipment is not sufficient for this project.
A mandatory pre-bid tour will be hosted by NFF and CSFS on August 28, 2026. Download MaterialsThe NFF, in partnership with the Coronado National Forest (CNF), is seeking a qualified contractor to continue the restoration, improvement, and expansion of trails included in the Santa Catalina Trail Plan. The contractor will also support recreation site operation, maintenance and improvement.
Trail work will include reroute construction, existing trail improvements and maintenance, and new trail construction. Recreation site operations will include trash removal, cleaning and re-stocking of toilet facilities, and the completion of deferred maintenance and site improvement projects. Volunteer recruitment, stewardship events, and recognition may also be required to support projects.
While work may occur anywhere within the Santa Catalina Ranger District, this request for proposals is specifically for:
- Construction of re-routes on the Finger Rock #42, Pontatoc #410 and Overflow to Esperero Connector trails
- New trail construction of the 8.5-mile Tucson Vista Trail
- Work may also include improvements to the Golder Ranch Trail System
Interested contractors should have experience with trail construction and maintenance in the desert southwest and familiarity with United States Forest Service (USFS) trail standards and policies.

There is an option item for the design, engineering (as applicable), fabrication, delivery, and installation of a superstructure and substructure crossing over the 1st Creek crossing. Steel and FRP bridge designs shall be stamped by an Alaska Professional Engineer (“PE”) as required herein.
The crossing substructures shall consist of concrete with a robust connection to bedrock. The superstructure may be timber, FRP, or steel.
It is the responsibility of the selected Contractor(s) to verify subsurface conditions and determine the most practical and economical crossing structure that complies with the appendices and all other applicable project specifications.
ADDENDUM #1 (9/11/2026)
Addendum #1 modifies the RFP to reflect a revised project scope, including the addition of the Turnagain Pass trail bridges at 3rd Creek and 1st Creek; updated proposal requirements, including provisions allowing NFF to make one or more awards under this RFP; revised insurance and performance security language; revised pricing structure, and revised appendices. These changes supersede any conflicting language in the original RFP, appendices, or prior updates.

Reduce hazardous fuel loads by removing blown-over, broken, root sprung, and leaning trees (sawtimber and pulpwood) within the project boundary. Restore disturbed areas through erosion control treatments, water-barring, slashing and vegetation establishment. Haul roads used will be maintained during operations to ensure safe and sustainable access.

The Prime Consultant will lead and coordinate the interdisciplinary process among Forest Service personnel. The work will include project management and quality control; IDT coordination and meeting facilitation; review and use of existing data; preparation, compilation, and formatting of the Environmental Assessment and associated compliance documents; analysis of public comments; maintenance of the project and administrative records; and support for the objection process.
A mandatory online pre-bid session will be hosted by the Forest Service from 9:00am to 11:00am MST on October 14, 2026. A Questions and Answers (Q&A) session will be hosted later that day online from 1:00pm to 3:00pm MST on October 14, 2026 to provide prospective bidders the opportunity to interface with both NFF and SNF staff prior to bid submission.

Download MaterialsThe National Forest Foundation in coordination with the United States Forest Service (USFS) seeks bids to logout or otherwise remove fallen trees from up to a maximum of 29 miles of trail in the Dead Horse Rim area of the Fremont-Winema National Forest.
This project involves the removal of downed trees from Class 3 and Class 2 non-motorized trails affected by the 2021 Bootleg Fire. Large trees that have fallen across the trail will be cut and removed, medium sized trees will be moved to the trail edge to help define the trail corridor, and small trees will be removed from the trail. No other trail work is being requested at this time.
The project area is typically snow-free and accessible between May and October, but site accessibility dates can differ based on local weather conditions.
