Santa Catalina Recreation and Trails Enhancement Project Phase 3 Coronado National Forest, Arizona
The NFF, in partnership with the Coronado National Forest (CNF), is seeking a qualified contractor to continue the restoration, improvement, and expansion of trails included in the Santa Catalina Trail Plan. The contractor will also support recreation site operation, maintenance and improvement.
Trail work will include reroute construction, existing trail improvements and maintenance, and new trail construction. Recreation site operations will include trash removal, cleaning and re-stocking of toilet facilities, and the completion of deferred maintenance and site improvement projects. Volunteer recruitment, stewardship events, and recognition may also be required to support projects.
While work may occur anywhere within the Santa Catalina Ranger District, this request for proposals is specifically for:
Construction of re-routes on the Finger Rock #42, Pontatoc #410 and Overflow to Esperero Connector trails
New trail construction of the 8.5-mile Tucson Vista Trail
Work may also include improvements to the Golder Ranch Trail System
Interested contractors should have experience with trail construction and maintenance in the desert southwest and familiarity with United States Forest Service (USFS) trail standards and policies.
