Catherine Cody joined the National Forest Foundation in 2024, where she leads strategic communications. She works across the Foundation to shape messaging, guide communications strategy, and build strategic partnerships while expanding NFF’s national visibility through collaboration with journalists, creators, partners, and stakeholders. Her work helps tell stories of the Foundation’s on-the-ground impact and expertise, elevating national conversations around conservation, wildfire resilience, recreation, and public lands stewardship.

Catherine brings more than fifteen years of experience leading communications strategy across nonprofit, media, cultural, and corporate sectors. Prior to joining NFF, she led communications for a global pay equity technology company, overseeing thought leadership, media strategy, and brand storytelling during a period of rapid growth.

Her background spans both agency and in-house roles supporting nationally recognized organizations including Texas Monthly, Dallas Museum of Art, and Tribeca Film Festival. Across her career, Catherine has specialized in creating accessible, compelling narratives that build understanding, strengthen communities, and inspire action. She is thrilled to now use those skills in support of her passion for conservation and outdoor exploration.

Based in Austin, Catherine is an avid backpacker, hiker, and swimmer who is happiest exploring wild places with her dog.
