Aimée Christensen is the founder and CEO of Christensen Global, a boutique sustainability advisory firm where she leverages deep expertise and a diverse network of relationships to mobilize resources to build an equitable, secure, and restorative world. She advises climate solutions innovators such as Aleph Farms, Hempitecture and RiskThinking.Ai, global impact initiatives including the Clinton Global Initiative, The Elders, Global Ocean Commission and Sustainable Energy for All, major corporations including Duke Energy, FEMSA, Ford Motor Company, Microsoft, Swiss Re and Virgin, and philanthropies including Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the United Nations Foundation.

She has three decades of experience in policy, law, investment, and philanthropy including with Baker & McKenzie, Google, The World Bank, and U.S. Department of Energy, where she began her career, negotiating the first U.S. bilateral climate change agreements (Costa Rica, et al, 1994-1998) and negotiating and managing the first regional energy cooperation, for the Summit of the Americas (1994-98). As an attorney, at Baker & McKenzie she worked on corporate climate change strategy, policy engagement and emissions trading transactions (2001-3) and at the World Bank she advised the Bank’s Carbon Funds and negotiated carbon trading contracts (2005).

At Google, she was hired as Climate Maven for Google.org to build the company’s climate impact strategy, including launching the first Google.org project, RechargeIT, to accelerate the electrification of transportation (2006-07) as well successfully lobbying for passage of California’s climate change legislation, AB32, (2006), and gaining a corporate commitment to carbon neutrality (2007). Upon relaunching her advisory firm in 2007, she served as an adviser to Virgin Unite including on the development of several of Sir Richard Branson’s ground-breaking initiatives (The B Team, The Carbon War Room and The Elders), playing a central role in developing the Carbon War Room, advising during its creation through public launch, and she advised The Elders on their environmental agenda, writing an initial strategy covering global environmental challenges and the Elders’ potential role in the solutions, briefing them at their Johannesburg, South Africa launch and then writing a roadmap for action.
