Shared Stewardship Peer Learning Series, Session 7: "Cross-Boundary Science-Based Tools to Implement Shared Stewardship" (January 14, 2021)
During this session, speakers discussed cultural resources inventories, the integration of indigenous and western science, geodatabase development, and tribal leadership from concept through completion and adaptive practice; described how to use scenario-based investments with other data sets; discussed data sharing and examples of data-sharing approaches; discuss the scale of data, e.g. the use of urban Forest Inventory and Analysis data at the state level; and discussed the Stewardship Mapping and Assessment Project and its utility in achieving Shared Stewardship. Speakers included Justine Gartner, Missouri State Forester; Bill Tripp, Karuk Tribe Natural Resources and Environmental Policy Director; Serra Hoagland, USDA Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station Liaison Officer; Michelle Johnson, USDA Forest Service, NYC Urban Field Station Research Ecologist; and Alan Ager, USDA Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station Research Forester.
