Ways to Give

Fix up a trail.
Plant a tree.
Restore a stream bank.
And you don't even have to get your hands dirty.

When you support the National Forest Foundation (NFF), you join forces with dozens of communities, hundreds of local organizations, and thousands of individuals working to conserve and restore our National Forests. Your gift helps ensure a sustainable future for the many resources your National Forests provide to us all - fresh air and clean water, outdoor recreation experiences, diverse wildlife, and wild places to roam.

All donors and members receive a subscription to Your National Forests magazine and our bi-monthly e-newsletter tree-mail as a portion of their membership benefits.

Ways You Can Give

Annual members are the heart and soul of the National Forest Foundation's mission. They represent the spirit of our public lands, which were created for and by American citizens who cared about the future of the nation's natural resources. Members ensure we can continue the daily work of conservation. The NFF offers various options for supporting and becoming engaged in our mission - along with our commitment that your membership dollars will be invested efficiently and in support of priority National Forest stewardship needs.

Monthly Giving

You can help the National Forest Foundation restore more forest landscapes and watersheds by becoming a monthly donor. With this option, we can set up automatic payments by credit card on a monthly or quarterly basis. (You can choose to cancel at any time.) The NFF will provide special recognition for you in our annual report and you will receive an annual acknowledgement summarizing your giving. This flexible option lets you do more for the landscapes you love, while ensuring you never miss out on an issue of Your National Forests magazine or tree-mail.

Gift Membership

Who could ask for anything more than 193 million acres of rivers, trails and wild landscapes? We can help you give the very special gift of vibrant National Forests to your friends and family with an NFF gift membership. Your gift recipients will stay connected to our forests through Your National Forests magazine - PLUS, we will plant 10 trees on their behalf. You can choose to send the recipient an electronic postcard or ask us to mail a card announcing your gift.

Memorials / Honoraria

You can remember a loved one or recognize a special occasion by making a contribution to the National Forest Foundation. Memorial and honoraria funds allow multiple friends, family and colleagues to pay a meaningful tribute in support of conserving and enhancing our National Forests.

Workplace Giving / Combined Federal Campaign

CFC #12053

Many employers offer matching-gift programs, which can double your charitable gifts to the National Forest Foundation. You can find out if your company has a matching gift program by contacting your human resources department or by calling the NFF at 406-542-2805.

The National Forest Foundation participates in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) through Earth Share - an alliance of the nation's top-performing environmental and conservation charities. The NFF has participated in the CFC since 2002 and appreciates the support of the hundreds of federal government, postal service and U.S. military employees who have supported the NFF through payroll deduction.

Planned Giving

Making a contribution to the National Forest Foundation through your will, a trust, or other financial planning offers a way to combine your interest in a personal National Forest legacy with potential tax savings for you. Your planned gift will help ensure that our forests will always provide the clean air and water, quality outdoor experiences, wildlife habitat and wild places valued by so many Americans.

We advise that you consult your attorney or tax professional about how a charitable vehicle may apply to your situation. However, the NFF also welcomes the opportunity to discuss your goals with you and provide additional information about your planned giving options.
